vodafone cloud
agile business manager
Vodafone Group Consumer Tech > Cloud Practice. London (2016 - 2018)
the problem
Vodafone Cloud was a newly formed Organisation. I was the second to be hired and a lot of work was still to do.
We had to create a strong Operating Model and KPI targets to deliver expected results on time, budget and with quality.
One of the main needs of the role was to generate the right governance, frameworks, processes and KPIs to make our subteams work smootlhy together.
This fast paced environment required a well planned internal and external communication strategy, plenty of presentations for different types of audiences and a strong team culture.
Time to market was key to deliver our Hybrid Cloud proposition over very aggressive competitors, so an Agile Transformation was suggested to implement our own Private Cloud.
The contribution
Reduction of 30% on Time to Deliver
* I worked closely to HR to create the right framework for onboarding new Graduates and celebration of success in the Organisation. The program I designed was replicated for +200 graduates next.
* Annual team performance review lead and mitigation plan.
* My role evolved from Governance and Business Manager into the direction of activities associated with Agile Transformation. Agile coach, Scrum Master, Release Train Engineer under SAFe.
* Part of senior leadership in the new +300 team organisation, reporting directly to the Head of Cloud Technology. Revenue size of £400m.
* Identification, analysis and reporting of KPIs across the Organisation to minimize time to market.
* E2E owner & frequent presenter of the monthly ExCo report.
* Internal Communication Strategy design and implementation, web designer (HTML, CSS).
the learnings
I learnt key concepts of Cloud computing, other Cloud providers key players or competitors and how to find the differentiating factor.
An Agile Transformation is a change of ways of working. Any change will have some advocates and some challengers. Finding them as soon as possible and working closer to them to understand their reasons and motivations, is very helpful to make the transformation.
Any change will be more successful if it is implemented gradually.
